Professor and lawyer, widow and mother of three daughters, Marisa began his public life fighting for the vacant position of Councillor in 1983, when she was voted the most, a peculiarity that was repeated in the next election. At the end of the second term in 1992, at the option family, Marisa moved away from disputes without, however, fail to interest and fight for the development of their city, continuing as director of the newspaper "The City", owned by his family.
She returned to contest elections in 2008 electing herself mayor with majority of votes, marking the history of Socorro as the 1st Woman Mayor.
Marisa still occupies offices in the state and performs functions such as:
• Member of the Supervisory Board of the Association of Municipalities of the resort cities of São Paulo (APRECESP);
• 1st Treasurer of the Paulista Association of Municipalities (APM);
• Vice-Chairman of the Consortium for Water Circuit Paulista;
• Vice-President of the Inter-municipal Consortium of Sanitation and Water Circuit Paulista Region;
• Member of the Board of Guidance and Control Improvements Fund offices (Department of Tourism - DADE);
As Mayor, has sought incessantly resources in the higher courts to continue designing Socorro as:
Inductor Pole Accessibility
• Destination Reference in Special Adventure Tourism
• Age-Friendly City
For it has made some significant actions:
• Created the Culture Municipal Board (COMUC);
• Created the Socorro Conservatory with Professors of the Music faculty of Tatuí;
• Created the Department of the Rights of Persons with disabilities or reduced mobility, which yielded to the City "Award from the State Government of São Paulo inclusive actions for Persons with Disabilities," for his contribution in the development of public policies for inclusion of Disabled People ;
• Implemented the Municipal Council of Defense of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COMDEF)
